Course Description
The Remote Management Fundamentals course covers both the Remote Insight Lights-Out Edition II (RILOE II) and the Integrated Lights-Out (iLO). Learners will access the HP Virtual Labs remotely to practice the procedures described in the training.

Audience
Technical Service Engineers in Service Call Centers, Field Service Engineers, and Channel Partners who install and support HP ProLiant Servers.

Objectives
After completing this course, learners should be able to:

• Describe the features of iLO and RILOE II
• Install a RILOE II option board
• Configure iLO and RILOE II
• Describe the differences in configuring iLO and RILOE II
• Access Insight Manager 7 from a Remote Console session
• Use the references to troubleshoot known iLO and RILOE II issues

Prerequisites
Previous training and/or experience on Hewlett-Packard ProLiant servers.

Minimum System Requirements

• Microsoft Windows 95 or later
• Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.x
• System font set to small or normal (instructions)
• 800 × 600 screen area (resolution), high color or medium (instructions)
• 166MHz processor with 32MB of RAM
• 28.8Kb/s modem (if viewing online)
• 2x CD-ROM drive (if viewing from CD)
• 3.8MB free disk space (if installing on hard drive)
